JOAN STENZLER,  Founder and Director

Joan Stenzler is a licensed clinical social worker, practicing holistic psychotherapist, organizational consultant and specialist in Mind-Body technologies.

As she grew as a professional, Joan began to integrate Western psychology with Eastern wisdom and powerful contemplative practices to create a rich, meaningful experience for those who work with her.

Serving for more than 20 years in community mental health settings, home and hospital-based programs, as both a clinician and program supervisor,
Joan saw first-hand the effects that working in challenging situations had on herself, her colleagues and staff.

In one of the most poignant insights she had, Joan repeatedly saw talented
and creative people lose their motivation, innovation and desire to serve,
that they had literally "lost the light in their eyes." and their passion to make a difference. From that insight she became determined to dedicate her work to preventing this from happening, wherever she could.

As part of her work, Joan has created cutting-edge curriculum for health and education professionals that changes how they view the essential nature of serving others and helps them to remain vibrant, effective and inspired.
""Those who serve, bring their hearts and compassion to work everyday and dedicate
their life's to helping others, can improve their own health, vitality and human potential.

At the Institute for Helping Professionals, our mission is to help professionals to stay connected to the deep meaning of their work and remain passionate & inspired everyday."
